Account Information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. This is stored on our server solely for authentication.
Vehicle Nicknames. Names you give your vehicles are stored server-side to sync across sessions. License plates are stored locally on your device only.
Location Data. When you tap "I'm Parked" or a Siri Shortcut triggers parking, your device records its GPS coordinates locally. This data is used on-device to look up nearby parking restrictions from publicly available city data. Your GPS coordinates are sent to our API only for the stateless rule lookup and are not stored.
Subscription Data. If you subscribe to ParkGuard Premium, Apple processes your payment. We receive a transaction receipt from Apple to verify your subscription status. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Server-side data (email, hashed password, vehicle nicknames, subscription status) is stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database. All communication uses TLS. Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.
Parking regulation data is sourced from publicly available municipal open data. No personal data is sent to these sources.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us, and we will remove all server-side data within 30 days.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at park.guard.help@gmail.com.
